Turbocharger - LH: Installation
- Install the new the turbocharger gasket.
- Install the turbocharger, then install and tighten the new turbocharger mounting bolts.
- Tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).

NOTE: Align the index marks for the turbocharger outlet pipe.
Install the turbocharger outlet pipe and then tighten the turbocharger outlet pipe clamp.
- Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Install the new turbocharger coolant tube linked sealing washers.
- Install the turbocharger coolant tubes, then install and tighten the new turbocharger coolant tube bolts in the following 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten 60 degrees.
- Install a new turbocharger oil return tube gasket and new turbocharger oil return tube O-ring seals. Lubricate the turbocharger oil return tube O-ring seals with clean engine oil.
- Install the turbocharger oil return tube, then install and tighten the turbocharger oil return tube bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

- Install a new filter.
- Install a new sealing washer.
- Install a new bolt.
- Install the turbocharger oil supply tube, then tighten the new turbocharger oil supply tube bolt in the following 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 18 Nm (159 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten 90 degrees.

NOTE: Align the marks for the turbocharger inlet pipe.
Install the turbocharger inlet pipe and then tighten the turbocharger inlet pipe clamp.
- Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Install the turbocharger heat shield, then install and tighten the turbocharger heat shield bolts.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

NOTE: Make sure the turbocharger wastegate actuator hose does not contact the exhaust manifold heat shield.
Connect the turbocharger wastegate regulating valve hose.
- Install the LH catalytic converter. Refer to Exhaust System .
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to Engine Cooling .
- Install the ACL assembly. Refer to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering .
- Remove the oil filler cap and install the engine appearance cover. Install the oil filler cap.
- Check and fill the engine oil level as needed with Motorcraft® SAE 5W-30 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil (US); Motorcraft® SAE 5W-30 Super Premium Motor Oil (Canada) XO-5W30-QSP (US); CXO-5W30-LSP12 (Canada); or equivalent.
