Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC): Removal

  1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this information, refer to Safety Warnings in General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

  2. NOTE: If installing a new IPC, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the IPC. This information must be downloaded into the new IPC after installation.

    Upload the module configuration information from the IPC into the scan tool by following the scan tool on screen instructions. Record the odometer value from the original IPC. If the odometer value cannot be obtained from the IPC (display failure), perform the diagnostic routine. If the value cannot be obtained after the diagnostic routine, the customer should supply the approximate odometer value.

  3. Lower the steering column.

  4. Lower the steering column opening trim panel.

  5. Remove the upper steering column shroud.

  6. Remove the headlamp switch and disconnect the electrical connector. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  7. Remove the bolts, release the clips and remove the instrument panel trim panel.

    Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  8. Remove the bolts, release the clips and remove the IPC bezel.

    Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  9. Remove the bolts and the IPC. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)
