Rear Seat Backrest Latch: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to: Rear Seat Cushion .
Police vehicle
On both rear seats. Remove the rear seat latch release screw.

All vehicles
1. Remove the bolt and position the rear center seatbelt aside. Lift the rear seat latch release handle.
  Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
2. Lower the rear seat backrest.
3. Rotate the backrest hinge locking arm to release the backrest.
4. Remove the seat backrest.

NOTE: It is necessary to remove the 40 percent seat backrest before the 60 percent seat backrest will release.
1. Lift the rear seat latch release handle.
  Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
2. Lower the rear seat backrest. Remove the backrest latch bezel. Unzip the backrest cover and release the backrest cover J-clips.
3. Rotate the backrest hinge locking arm to release the backrest.
4. Remove the seat backrest.

1. Remove the screw.
  Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
2. Remove the seat latch bezel.
3. Position aside the backrest cover foam.

Remove the bolts and the rear seat backrest latch.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (24 Nm)
