PRNDL Display

The IPC receives the transmission gearshift lever position message from the TCM over the HS-CAN. The IPC uses the factory mode and transport mode status, controlled internally, to reduce the battery drain during build and extended periods of time when the vehicle is not in use. The IPC also uses a park position detect switch (part of the selector lever) hardwired input to signal the IPC the shift lever is fully seated in the PARK (P) position. The IPC compares the park position detect switch input with the transmission gear display message sent from the TCM.
