Inspection and Verification
NOTE:
This information provides mechanical diagnosis of the turbocharger assembly. If there is a MIL illuminated, or a DTC is present, these should be diagnosed prior to performing turbocharger mechanical diagnosis.
- For PCMDTC, REFER to: Electronic Engine Controls . For driveability symptoms without DTC, Refer to Engine Controls - Symptom Charts (Except Diesel & Hybrid) .
- Verify the customer concern.
- Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

Turbocharger bypass valve(s) - If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
