Pinpoint Test D : The Parking Aid Disable Switch Led (Light Emitting Diode) Is Inoperative Or Always On
- D1 RETRIEVE THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PAM self-test.
Is DTC B1B54:11 present?
Yes GO to D4 No If the LED is inoperative, GO to D3 If the LED is always on, GO to D2 - D2 CHECK THE LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect BCM C2280G (vehicles without active park assist).
- Disconnect PAM C4226A (vehicles with active park assist).
- Ignition ON.
Does the LED continue to illuminate?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. No For vehicles without active park assist GO to D6 For vehicles with active park assist GO to D7 - D3 CHECK THE LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect BCM C2280G (vehicles without active park assist).
- Disconnect PAM C4226A (vehicles with active park assist).
- Disconnect Active park assist switch C3466.
- For vehicles without active park assist measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead Refer to C3466-1 Refer to C2280G-34
- For vehicles with active park assist measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead Refer to C3466-1 Refer to C4226A-4
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to D5 No REPAIR the circuit. - D4 CHECK THE LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect BCM C2280G (vehicles without active park assist).
- Disconnect PAM C4226A (vehicles with active park assist).
- Disconnect Active park assist switch C3466.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead Refer to C3466-1 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to D5 No REPAIR the circuit. - D5 CHECK THE LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) WITH THE PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) BYPASSED
- Connect Active park assist switch C3466.
- For vehicles without active park assist connect a fused jumper wire:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead Refer to C2280G-34 Battery positive
- For vehicles with active park assist connect a fused jumper wire:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead Refer to C4226A-4 Battery positive
Does the LED illuminate?
Yes For vehicles without active park assist. REMOVE the fused jumper wire. GO to D6 For vehicles with active park assist. REMOVE the fused jumper wire. GO to D7 No INSTALL a new active park assist switch. REFER to: Active Park Assist Switch . - D6 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, Refer to BCM GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - D7 CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all PAM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the PAM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new PAM. REFER to: Parking Assist Control Module (PAM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
