Cooling Module: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Recover the A/C system. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation And Charging .
- Remove the engine driven cooling fan. Refer to: Cooling Fan .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- Remove the CAC. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) .
- Position the lower support and install the bolts finger tight.
- Remove and discard the lower load path bar retainers and remove the lower load path bars.
Torque: 1: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm) 2: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Cut the cable ties from the cooling module.

NOTE: A crowfoot wrench may be needed to access the lower A/C line nut.
Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the A/C lines from the condenser.
Torque: 1: 133 lb.in (15 Nm) 2: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
- Disconnect the cooling fan motor and shroud electrical connectors and remove the push pin.
- Disconnect the upper radiator hose and remove the push pin from the cooling fan shroud.
- Disconnect and remove the degas bottle coolant tube from the cooling fan shroud.
- Disconnect the transmission cooler hose.
- Remove the bolt and position the transmission cooler upward to release it from the lower retainer.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

- Remove the bolts
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Position the air deflector from under the A/C condenser prior to lowering the cooling module.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Remove the bolts
