Oil Cooler: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Drain the engine cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  3. Remove the nut and position aside the bracket.

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector and the wire retainer.

  5. If necessary, remove the oil pressure switch.

  6. Remove and discard the oil filter.

  7. Disconnect the coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  8. Remove the bolts, stud bolts and the oil cooler.

  9. Remove and discard the oil cooler gasket.
