Exhaust Manifold: Installation

NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening or tightening the exhaust manifold studs or damage to the stud torx head or cylinder head threads can occur.
Install the new exhaust manifold studs and the exhaust manifold gasket.
Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening or tightening the exhaust manifold studs or damage to the stud torx head or cylinder head threads can occur.
Position a new EGR cooler gasket. Install the exhaust manifold and the new exhaust manifold studs.
Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
- Install the new exhaust manifold nuts. Tighten in the sequence shown in 4 stages.
Torque: Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm) Stage 2: 177 lb.in (20 Nm) Stage 3: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm) Stage 4: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)
- Install the new EGR cooler clamp.
Torque: 75 lb.in (8.5 Nm)
- Install the heat shield and bolts. Tighten in the sequence shown.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- If necessary, install the EGRT sensor 11.
Torque: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)
- Connect the electrical connector and wire retainer.
- Position back the oil level indicator and install the bolt.
Torque: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)
- Install the generator bracket, lifting bracket and the bolts. Tighten in the sequence shown in 3 stages.
Torque: M8 bolts: Stage 1: 133 lb.in (15 Nm) Stage 2: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm) Stage 3: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm) M10 bolts: Stage 4: 177 lb.in (20 Nm) Stage 5: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm) Stage 6: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
- Connect the wire retainer to the generator bracket.
- Install the generator. Refer to: Generator - 3.2L Duratorq-TDCi (148kW/200PS) - Puma .
- Install the turbocharger. Refer to: Turbocharger .
