Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor: Installation
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Rotate the crankshaft until the trigger tooth is visible through the CKP sensor housing.
-
NOTE: If the new CKP sensor has a rubber tip, setting the gap is not necessary. Replacement CKP sensors come with a rubber "sacrificial" tip that will wear off to provide the necessary gap between the sensor and the tone wheel.NOTE: If the CKP sensor does not have a rubber tip, A feeler gauge must be used between the CKP sensor and the trigger wheel.
- Install the CKP sensor and loosely install the bolt. Apply light pressure to ensure contact with the 0.02 inch (0.5 mm) feeler gauge blade. Use the General Equipment: Feeler Gauge
- Tighten the bolt.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
