Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Bracket Adjustment

Activation
- Remove the engine front cover. Refer to: Engine Front Cover .
- Using the special tool, set the crankshaft position. Install Special Service Tool: 303-1587 Timing Tool, Crankshaft.
- Remove the bolt and the heat shield.
- Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt and the CKP sensor.

NOTE: The transmission is removed for clarity.
Loosen the bolts.

- Using the special tool, align the CKP sensor bracket. Use Special Service Tool: 303-1562 Timing Tool.
- Make sure that the special tool is located in the flexplate timing slot.

- Tighten the bolts before removing tool. Use Special Service Tool: 303-1562 Timing Tool.
Torque: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)
- Tighten the bolts before removing tool. Use Special Service Tool: 303-1562 Timing Tool.
- Remove special tool. Remove Special Service Tool: 303-1587 Timing Tool, Crankshaft.
- Rotate the crankshaft until the trigger tooth is visible through the CKP sensor housing.

- Install the CKP sensor and loosely install the bolt. Apply light pressure to ensure contact with the 0.008 inch (0.2 mm) feeler gauge blade. Use the General Equipment: Feeler Gauge
- Tighten the bolt
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
- Install the heat shield and the bolt.
Torque: 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)
- Install the engine front cover. Refer to: Engine Front Cover .
