Cooling Module: Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
Recover the refrigerant. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging .
Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
Remove the CAC. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) .
Position the lower module support and install the bolts finger-tight.

Remove and discard the lower load path bar retainers and remove the lower load path bars.
Torque: 1: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm) 2: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Remove the cable ties from the cooling module.

- Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connector and detach the retainer.
- Remove the bolts.
  Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Loosen the clamps and remove the CAC tubes.
  Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the A/C lines from the condenser. A crowfoot wrench may be needed to access the lower A/C line nut.
Torque: 1: 133 lb.in (15 Nm) 2: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

Disconnect the lower radiator hose.

Disconnect the cooling fan motor and shroud electrical connectors.

Disconnect the transmission cooler hose.

Remove the bolt and position the transmission cooler upward to release it from the lower retainer.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

Remove the coolant hose and vapor tube connections from the cooling fan shroud.

Remove the degas bottle coolant tube from the radiator and disconnect it from the cooling fan shroud.

Disconnect the upper radiator hose.

1. Remove the bolts.
  Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
2. Position the air deflector from under the A/C condenser prior to lowering the cooling module.
  Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
