Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Disconnect the cooling fan motor and shroud electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolt and position the transmission cooler upward to release it from the lower retainer.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Remove the coolant hose and vapor tube connections from the cooling fan shroud.
- Remove the degas bottle coolant tube from the cooling fan shroud.
- Remove the push pins.

NOTE: The cable ties must be installed to allow the cooling module to drop 2-3 inches.
Using a series of cable ties support both sides of the cooling module utilizing the push pin holes and the upper radiator mounts. Use the General Equipment: Cable Ties
- Remove the front lower air deflector.
Torque: 1: 44 lb.in (5 Nm) 2: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- Loosen the clamps and detach the CAC ducts from the CAC.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Remove and discard the lower load path bar retainers and remove the lower load path bars.
Torque: 1: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm) 2: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

- Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connector and detach the retainer.
- Remove the bolts.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Loosen the clamps and remove the CAC tubes.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Remove the bolt and position the transmission cooler hose bracket aside.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Remove the push pins and position the A/C lines aside.

NOTE: This step requires the specified number of technicians.
Remove the bolts and the lower support and CAC.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Unclip the lower cooling fan retainers while pushing upward on the cooling fan motor and shroud assembly.
- Position the cooling fan motor and shroud assembly above the clips then remove.
