Exhaust Manifold LH: Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
Disconnect the LH HO2S catalyst monitor sensor and the wiring harness retainers.

Disconnect the RH HO2S and catalyst monitor sensor.

NOTE: Clean the catalytic converter-to-muffler sealing surfaces.

Remove the exhaust flange bolts and detach the exhaust hanger.

Remove and discard the LH catalytic converter flange nuts.

Remove and discard the RH catalytic converter flange nuts and position rearward.

Remove the bolts and the exhaust manifold heat shield.

- Remove the nuts and the exhaust manifold.
- Discard the nuts.

- Remove and discard the exhaust manifold gasket.
- Remove and discard the exhaust manifold studs.

NOTE: Clean the cylinder head-to-exhaust manifold sealing surfaces.
