Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the retainers and heat shield.

  3. Position aside the CKP sensor access plug.

  4. NOTE: Remove the bolt and the CKP sensor from the bell housing before disconnecting the electrical connector to prevent the CKP sensor from falling in the bell housing.

    • Remove the CKP sensor bolt.

    • Remove the CKP sensor then disconnect the electrical connector.
