Pinpoint Test O : The Diesel Exhaust Fluid Level Low Indicator Is Never Or Always On
- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
If the diesel exhaust fluid level indicator request is missing for less than the programmed time, the IPC defaults the diesel exhaust fluid level low indicator to its last state (on or off) based upon the last message received.
If the diesel exhaust fluid level indicator request message is missing from the PCM, the BCM and the IPC set DTC U0100:00 in continuous memory.

Visual Inspection and Pre-checks
- Verify the diesel exhaust fluid level tank has fluid.
- O1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to DTC Chart: IPC . No GO to O2 - O2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE REDUCTANT DOSAGE CONTROL (DCU) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the Reductant Dosage Control (DCU) module self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes Refer to Engine Controls - Powertrain DTC Charts & Descriptions (Except Diesel & Hybrid) or Engine Controls - Powertrain DTC Charts & Descriptions (Diesel) . No GO to O3 - O3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) KOEO (KEY ON, ENGINE OFF) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
Are any diesel exhaust fluid related Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes Refer to Engine Controls - Powertrain DTC Charts & Descriptions (Diesel) No Refer to IPC Guided Routine Testing .
