AD1 CHECK THE TOW HAUL FUNCTION
- Ignition ON.
- Verify the tow haul function engage and disengages the system using with the tow haul switch.
Does the tow haul function engage and disengage using the tow haul switch?

Yes GO to AD2

No REFER to: External Controls .

AD2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes REFER to DTC Chart: IPC .

No GO to AD3

AD3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) .

No GO to AD4

AD4 CARRY OUT THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING A SCAN TOOL
- Using a scan tool, view the IPC Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
- Select the IPC tow haul indicator (TRAILER_LMP) PID.
- Command the tow haul indicator on and off while observing the tow haul indicator.
Does the tow haul indicator illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off?

Yes GO to AD5

No Refer to IPC Guided Routine Testing .

AD5 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST

Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the TCM self-test.

Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes	Refer to the appropriate Automatic Transmission article for the procedure.

No	On gasoline engines, Refer to PCM Guided Routine Testing . On the diesel engine, INSTALL a new TCM. REFER to: Transmission Control Module (TCM) - 3.2L Duratorq-TDCi (148kW/200PS) - Puma .
