Pinpoint Test Ac : The Stability-Traction Control Disabled Indicator (Sliding Car Off Icon) Is Never Or Always On
- NOTE: When a MyKey® programmed key is in use and the AdvanceTrac® on feature is configured always on, the traction control system cannot be disabled and the traction control indicator does not turn on when the traction control disable button is pressed. The traction control indicator still functions correctly to indicate a traction control system fault and a traction control active event.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
If the stability-traction control indicator request is missing or invalid for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) to the last indication state (on or off), based upon the last message received.
If the BCM does not receive the stability/traction control disabled indicator request message from the ABS module, the BCM sets DTC U0121:00.
If the IPC does not receive the stability/traction control disabled indicator request message from the BCM module for the programmed length of time or longer, the IPC sets DTC U0121:00 and defaults the stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon) on.

- AC1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to DTC Chart: IPC . No GO to AC2 - AC2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) . No GO to AC3 - AC3 CHECK FOR KEY TYPE
- Check if the key is a MyKey® programmed key or an administrator key. Refer to the Owners Literature.
Is the key an administrator key?
Yes GO to AC4 No GO to AC5 - AC4 CHECK FOR THE ADVANCETRAC® ON FEATURE CONFIGURED ALWAYS ON
- Check if the AdvanceTrac® feature is configured always on. Refer to the Owner's Literature.
Is the AdvanceTrac® feature configured always on?
Yes The traction control system cannot be disabled when the AdvanceTrac® on feature is configured always on. No GO to AC6 - AC5 CARRY OUT THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING A SCAN TOOL
- Using a scan tool, view the IPC Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
- Select the IPC stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon) (STAB_TC_LMP) PID.
- Command the stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon) on and off while observing the stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon).
Does the stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon) illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off?
Yes GO to AC6 No Refer to IPC Guided Routine Testing . - AC6 CHECK THE TRACTION CONTROL SETTING
- On the mid-level and high level message center clusters, navigate to the traction control setting menu and observe the traction control setting using the LH steering wheel switch and an administrator key while enabling the stability-traction control on then off again.
- On the low-level message center IPC, enable the stability-traction control on then off again.
Does the traction control selection change when the feature is configured on and off?
Yes The system is operating correctly at this time. No DIAGNOSE the stability-traction control cannot be disabled. REFER to: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) And Stability Control .
