Brake Vacuum Pump - 3.2L Duratorq-TDCi (148kW/200PS) - Puma: Removal

  1. Remove the valve cover. Refer to: Valve Cover .
  2. Remove the LH engine mount. Refer to: Engine Mount LH .
  3. Install the engine mount bracket and the bolts.

    Torque: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)

  4. NOTE: Make sure the transmission fluid pan does not make contact with the steering gear when lowering the engine.

    Position a block of wood (approximately 50.8 mm (2 in) thick) between the engine mount bracket and the crossmember and lower the jack until the engine mount bracket is resting on the block of wood. Remove the stand. Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands

  5. Release the clamp and disconnect the vacuum tube.

  6. Release the coupling and disconnect the vacuum tube.

  7. Remove the 2 bolts and the brake vacuum pump.

    Torque: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)

  8. NOTE: Install the new seal by hand with no lubricant.

    Using a plastic non-marring trim tool, remove and discard the vacuum pump seal.
