Pinpoint Test Al : The Cruise Control Set Speed Display Or RECONFIGURABLE Telltale (RTT) Is Never On

NOTE: If DTC U0100:00 sets in the IPC, other observable symptoms can be an inoperative speedometer, tachometer or odometer.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

If the cruise control display message is missing from the PCM, the BCM sets DTC U0100:00.

If the cruise control display message is missing or invalid for 400 milliseconds from BCM, the IPC sets DTC U0100:00 and defaults the cruise control indicator on until a valid message is received.

Visual Inspection and Pre-checks
- Make sure to verify the cruise control Reconfigurable Telltale (RTT) with the engine running. The indicator may not display with the KOEO

AL1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Close all doors and the hood.
- Clear all message center warnings by pressing the OK button for each warning present.
- NOTE: If multiple warnings are present, the message center cycles through each of the warning indicators. Allow the message center to cycle through each display while determining whether the door ajar message center warning is active.
  
  Monitor the door ajar message center warning.
- Open the driver door.
- Clear the message center popup warning.
- Monitor the door ajar message center warning.
Does the driver door ajar message center warning turn off with the driver door closed and turn on with the driver door open?

Yes GO to AL2

No GO to Pinpoint Test A

AL2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes REFER to DTC Chart: IPC .

No DIAGNOSE the cruise control system. REFER to: Cruise Control .
