Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The RCM continuously monitors the second row right seatbelt buckle switch circuits for the following faults:
- Open circuit
- Short to voltage
- Short to ground
- Current out of range
- Faulted second row right seatbelt buckle switch
If a fault is detected, the RCM stores DTC B140D:11, B140D:12, B140D:13 or B140D:1D in memory and sends a message to the IPC to illuminate the airbag warning indicator.

| B140D:12 | Second Row Passenger Side Seatbelt Sensor: Circuit Short to Battery | Sets when the RCM senses a short to voltage from the second row right seatbelt buckle sensor circuit for more than 6 seconds. |
| B140D:13 | Second Row Passenger Side Seatbelt Sensor: Circuit Open | Sets when the RCM senses an open from either second row right seatbelt buckle sensor circuit for more than 6 seconds. |
| B140D:1D | Second Row Passenger Side Seatbelt Sensor: Circuit Current Out of Range | Sets when the RCM measures current outside of an acceptable range from the second row right seatbelt buckle sensor circuit for more than 6 seconds. |
