Climate Control Housing: Removal
NOTE:
During the removal of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove protective materials prior to installation.

- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to the appropriate Recovery procedure in Climate Control Systems.
- Remove the nut and disconnect the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly.
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
Pinch off and disconnect the heater core inlet and outlet hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Remove the driver side front seat. Refer to: Front Seat ).
- Remove the instrument panel upper section. Refer to: Instrument Panel Upper Section .
- Remove the retainer and the RH footwell vent duct.
- Remove the retainer, the air deflector and the LH footwell vent duct.
- Remove the air ducts.

- Position the carpet aside.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the climate control housing water drain tube.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.

- Remove the hood latch release handle.
- Position aside the weather strip.
- Release the clips and remove the LH scuff plate.
- Release the clips and remove the LH lower cowl trim panel

- Position the carpet aside.
- Remove the ground strap bolt.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Release the push pin retainer.

- Position aside the weather strip.
- Release the clips and remove the RH scuff plate.
- Release the clips and remove the RH lower cowl trim panel.

- Position the carpet aside.
- Remove the ground strap bolt.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Release the push pin retainer.

- Position the carpet aside.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Detach the wiring harness retainers and position aside the wiring harness.
- Remove the bolts and the LH instrument panel lower support bracket.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Remove the bolts and the LH instrument panel lower support bracket.
- Remove both front doors. Refer to: Front Door .
- On both sides.
- Remove the bolts.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Remove the bolts.

- Remove the bolts and the in-vehicle crossbeam assembly.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Remove the bolts and the in-vehicle crossbeam assembly.
- Detach the retainer and disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Detach the retainer and disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the retainers and the air plenum bezel.
- If equipped. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolts and the climate control housing.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
