Cylinder Head: Assembly
- Lubricate with clean engine oil and install the valve into the cylinder head.
Material: Motorcraft® SAE 5W-20 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W20-QSP (WSS-M2C945-A)
- Lubricate with clean engine oil and using the special tool, install the valve stem seal. Use Special Service Tool: 303-470 (T94P-6510-CH) Installer, Valve Stem Oil Seal.

- Using the special tools, install the valve collets, valve spring retainers and the valve springs. Use Special Service Tool: 303-300 (T87C-6565-A) Set, Valve Spring Compressor, 303-350 (T89P-6565-A) Compressor, Valve Spring, 303-472 (T94P-6565-AH) Adapter, Valve Spring Compressor.
Material: Motorcraft® Multi-Purpose Grease Spray / XL-5-A (ESB-M1C93-B)

NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing or installing the spark plugs or damage can occur to the cylinder head or spark plug.
Install the spark plugs.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
- Install a new CHT sensor.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
- Install the EGR valve and the bolts.
Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
- Install the coolant outlet and the bolts.
Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
- On both sides.
- Install the lifting brackets and the bolts.
Torque: 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)
- Install the lifting brackets and the bolts.
