Removal And Installation: Radiator: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  3. Remove the retainers and the lower air deflector.

  4. Release the retainers and remove the radiator sight shield.

  5. Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to: Front Bumper Cover .
  6. Disconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connector and detach the wiring retainer.

  7. Detach the retainer, disconnect the coupling and position the coolant hose aside.

  8. Remove the retainer and position the A/C tube assembly aside.

    Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

  9. Remove the radiator side air deflectors pin-type retainers.

    1. Remove the radiator side air deflectors pin-type retainers.
    2. Release the tab and remove the radiator side air deflectors.

  10. NOTE: Radiator, cooling fan, and A/C condenser will lower with sub frame.

    1. Remove the lower crossmember bracket bolts.

      Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

    2. Remove the bolts and the lower crossmember.

      Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  11. Cut the foam seal. Use the General Equipment: Knife

  12. NOTE: Make sure that no strain is placed on the refrigerant lines.

    Loosely install the cable ties at both sides of the A/C condenser. Use the General Equipment: Cable Ties

  13. Release the tabs and position the A/C condenser aside.

  14. Depress the tabs and disconnect the coolant tube.

    • Disconnect the coolant hoses quick connect couplings.

    • Detach the retainers and remove the radiator.
