Radiator Lower Mounting Repair

Special Tool(s) / General Equipment 

5 mm Drill Bit
Flat File

Repair 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. If equipped. Remove the retainers and the shield plate.

  3. If equipped. Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

  4. Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

  5. If equipped. Remove the retainers and the air deflectors.

  6. NOTE: Make sure that no strain is placed on the refrigerant lines.

    Remove the bolts and the lower radiator support.

    1. Using a flat file, file the surface as shown. Use the General Equipment: Flat File
    2. Using a drill bit, drill hole in the radiator mount bracket. Use the General Equipment: 5 mm Drill Bit

  7. Install the radiator support bracket and the bolt.

    Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

  8. NOTE: Make sure that no strain is placed on the refrigerant lines.

    Install the lower radiator support and the bolts.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  9. If equipped. Position the air deflectors and install the retainers.

  10. Install the underbody shield and the retainers.

  11. If equipped. Install the underbody shield and the retainers.
