Pinpoint Test Ac : The Compass Display Is Inoperative

  1. AC1 DETERMINE THE VEHICLE AUDIO SYSTEM

    • Verify whether the vehicle is equipped with the touchscreen audio system.

    Is the vehicle is equipped with the touchscreen audio system? 

    Yes  GO to  AC3
    No  GO to  AC2

  2. AC2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE GPSM (GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the GPSM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Information and Entertainment System .
    No  GO to  AC4

  3. AC3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE APIM (SYNC MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the APIM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Information and Entertainment System .
    No  GO to  AC4

  4. AC4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to DTC Chart: IPC .
    No  GO to  AC5

  5. AC5 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) .
    No  For touchscreen audio, Refer to APIM Guided Routine Testing . Without touchscreen audio, INSTALL a new GPSM. REFER to: Global Positioning System Module (GPSM) - Vehicles Without: Active City Stop .
