Hood Latch Release Cable: Installation

  1. Install the hood latch release cable.

    1. Install the hood latch release cable through the cowl.
    2. Attach the cable routing clip.

  2. Route the hood latch release cable and seat the grommet in the cowl.

  3. Position and connect the hood latch release cable to the routing bracket.

  4. Attach the hood latch release cable to the hood latch.

    1. Attach the cable end to the hood latch.
    2. Attach the hood latch release cable to the retaining bracket.

  5. Attach the hood latch release cable into the routing clips.

  6. Install the hood latch release.

    1. Install the hood latch release and the bolts.
    2. Connect the hood latch release cable to the hood latch release.
    3. Position the hood latch cable as shown.
    4. Attach the hood latch release cable to the hood latch release retaining bracket.

  7. Position the carpet.

  8. Install the LH kick panel and the retainers.

  9. Install the hood latch release handle.

    1. Install the hood latch release handle.
    2. Install the hood latch release handle retaining clip.
    3. Install the hood latch release handle retaining clip.

  10. Install the front door scuff plate and position the front door weatherstrip.

    • Position the front door weatherstrip.

    • Install the front door scuff plate retaining clips and install the front door scuff plate.

  11. Install the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray - 2.5L Duratec (125kW/170PS) .
