Front Bumper: Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the screws and the engine undershield. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
- Remove the screws, the pin-type retainers and the radiator deflector. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to: Front Bumper Cover .
- Release the clips, detach the retainers and remove the upper air deflector.
- Detach the retainers, release the clips and remove the lower air deflector.
- Disconnect the electrical connector, detach the pin-type retainers, remove the bolt and the horn. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
Torque: 1: 71 lb.in (8 Nm) 2: 16 lb.ft (22 Nm)
- Remove the bolt, detach the retainers and position the wiring harness aside. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
- Remove the front subframe bolts.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

- Remove the front bumper nuts.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Position aside the windshield washer reservoir.
- Remove the front bumper nuts.

- Remove the bolts.
Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
- Tighten each bolt 0.5 turn at a time, until the components are in full contact, before final tightening.
Torque: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)
- Loosen the radiator grille opening panel bolts.
Torque: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)
- Remove the bolts.

- Release the tab.
- Remove the rear air cleaner inlet pipe.

NOTE: Make sure that no components catch.
Position the upper radiator support upward and remove the front bumper.
