Transfer Case Cooler: Installation

  1. Clean the PTU cooler surface.

  2. Install the PTU cooler housing gasket.

  3. Clean the PTU cooler housing.

  4. Install the PTU cooler housing and the PTU cooler housing bolts.

    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  5. Position the PTU coolant lines and install the PTU coolant line bolt.

    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  6. Remove hose clamp pliers.

  7. Fill the PTU fluid level. Refer to Power Transfer Unit (PTU) Draining and Filling .
  8. NOTE: Replace the O-ring before installing the PTU temperature sensor.

    Install the PTU temperature sensor.

    • Tighten to 14 Nm (124 lb-in).

  9. Clip the PTU temperature sensor wiring harness to the retainer clip.

  10. Connect the PTU temperature sensor electrical connector.

  11. Install the PTU temperature sensor heat shield and the heat shield bolts.

    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  12. Install the RH catalytic converter. Refer to Exhaust System .
  13. Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to Engine Cooling .
