Input Shaft Seal: Installation

- Clean the PTU input shaft opening.
- Position the inner seal above the PTU input shaft opening with the spring facing toward the PTU. Using 308-777 /4 and 205-153 T80T-4000-W, install the seal.
- Position the outer seal above the PTU input shaft opening with the spring facing away from the PTU. Using 308-777 /5 and 205-153 T80T-4000-W, install the seal.
- Install the new compression seal.
- Install the PTU. Refer to Power Transfer Unit (PTU) -- 3.5L Ti-VCT or Power Transfer Unit (PTU) -- 3.5L GTDI .
- Fill the PTU as necessary. Refer to Power Transfer Unit (PTU) Draining and Filling .
