Fuel System Pressure Release

Pressure release 

  1. Remove the fuse F65 (fuel pump relay) from the junction box panel.

  2. Start the engine and allow it to idle until the engine stops.
  3. Crank the engine for approximately five seconds to make sure that the fuel rail pressure is released.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  5. When the fuel system service is complete, install the fuse F65 (fuel pump relay) to the junction box panel.

  6. NOTE: It may take more than one key cycle to pressurize the fuel system.

    Cycle the ignition key and wait 3 seconds to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks before starting the engine.

  7. Start the vehicle and check the fuel system for leaks.
