Electric Coolant Pump: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

    WARNING: When releasing the cooling system pressure, cover the coolant expansion tank cap with a thick cloth.

    Release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly turning the pressure relief cap counterclockwise.

  3. Remove the RH fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
  4. Clamp off the coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)

    • Disconnect the electrical connector.

    • Release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

    • Release the hose clamp and disconnect the coolant hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

    • Remove the bolt and the electric coolant pump.

      Torque

      : 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
