Side Curtain Airbag - Vehicles With: Rear Seat Side Airbag: Removal

WARNING: WARNING: The following procedure prescribes critical repair steps required for correct restraint system operation during a crash. Follow all notes and steps carefully. Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
Remove the headliner. Refer to: Headliner .
Disconnect the side curtain airbag electrical connector.

Remove the side curtain airbag front screws.
Torque

80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Remove the side curtain airbag rear screws.
Torque

80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Slide the rear retainers up and rotate them out of the sheet metal.

- Slide the front hooked retainers up and rotate them out of the sheet metal.
- Separate the remaining retainer.

1. Rotate the top of the retainer and disengage the T-tab from the sheet metal.
2. Slide the side curtain airbag rearward.
3. Lift and pull out, removing the side curtain airbag.
