C-Pillar Side Impact Sensor: Removal

NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.
  1. WARNING: WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this service information, refer to health and safety warnings in General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

    Refer to: Pyrotechnic Device Health and Safety Precautions .

  2. Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
  3. Position the rear seat cushion to the full forward position.

  4. Lower the backrest.

    1. Position the rear door weather-strip aside from the lower C-pillar trim panel.
    2. Release the clips and position the lower C-pillar trim panel away enough to access the side impact sensor.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. Remove the bolt.

      Torque

      93 lb.in (10.5 Nm)

    3. Remove the side impact sensor.
