Headliner - Lowering

For information on Ford Color Coded Illustrations refer to OEM Color Coding

  1. Remove the following items:

    1. On both sides. Remove the A-pillar trim panel. Refer to: A-Pillar Trim Panel .
    2. On both sides. Remove the B-pillar trim panel. Refer to: B-Pillar Trim Panel .
    3. On both sides. Remove the D-pillar trim panel. Refer to: D-Pillar Trim Panel .
    4. Remove the overhead console. Refer to: Overhead Console .

  2. On both sides. Position the rear seat in the upright position.

    1. Position the rear seat backrest in the full upright position.
    2. Position the rear seat cushion in the normal position.

  3. On both sides. Fully recline the front seat backrest.

  4. On RH side. Disconnect the electrical connectors and position the headliner wiring harness aside.

  5. On LH side. Disconnect the electrical connector and position the headliner wiring harness aside.

  6. On both sides. Remove the sunvisor.

    1. Remove the sun visor cover.
    2. Remove the screws.
    3. Rotate outward to remove the sun visor.

  7. On both sides. Remove the sun visor clip.

    1. Open up the sun visor clip cover.
    2. Remove the screw.

  8. If equipped, on RH side. Remove the front assist handle.

    1. Position the front assist handle down.
    2. Open the covers.
    3. Remove the screws.

  9. If equipped, on both sides. Remove the rear assist handle.

    1. Position the rear assist handle down.
    2. Open the covers.
    3. Remove the screws.

  10. On both sides. Remove the interior front lamp.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. Release the tabs.
    3. Pull downward to remove.

  11. If equipped with autolamps and rain senor. Remove rear view mirror upper cover.

    1. Pressing inward, release the side tabs.
    2. Sliding toward the rear of the vehicle, to remove.

  12. If equipped with autolamps and rain senor. Remove the rear view mirror lower cover.

    1. Pulling outward, release the side tabs.
    2. Sliding toward the front of the vehicle, to remove.

  13. If equipped with autolamps and rain senor. Disconnect the rain senor and rear view mirror electrical connectors.

  14. If equipped with roof opening panel. Disconnect the roof opening panel motor electrical connector.

  15. If equipped with roof opening panel. Remove the roof opening panel trim ring.

  16. On both sides. Position the front and rear door weatherstrip aside.

  17. Position the liftgate weatherstrip aside.

  18. Release the rear clips.
