Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

  1. BO1: CHECK THE CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCH AND CLUTCH PEDAL ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION 
    • Inspect the clutch pedal switch and brake pedal assembly. Verify the clutch pedal is not unintentionally applied due to incorrect clutch pedal switch or clutch pedal installation.
      • To verify clutch pedal switch (cruise control deactivator switch) installation, refer to Cruise Control article
      • To verify clutch pedal installation, refer to Clutch Controls article.
    • Are the clutch pedal switch and clutch pedal assembly installed correctly? 
      Yes No
      Go to  BO2. REINSTALL the clutch pedal switch or clutch pedal assembly correctly. REFER to Clutch Controls article or Cruise Control article.
  2. BO2: CHECK THE PCM BPP (BOO1) PID 
    • Ignition ON, engine OFF.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, monitor the PCM clutch pedal PID.
    • Apply and release the clutch pedal.
    • Does the PID reflect the clutch pedal movement? 
      Yes No
      Go to  BO3. DIAGNOSE the clutch pedal switch (also known as the cruise control deactivator switch). REFER to Cruise Control article.
  3. BO3: CHECK FOR ABS MODULE DTCS 
    • Carry out the ABS self-test.
    • Is DTC U0100:00 or U0401:00 present in the ABS module? 
      Yes No
      For DTC U0401:00, Go to the ABS Module DTC Chart .
      For DTC U0100:00, Go to PINPOINT TEST AI .      		 Go to  BO4.
  4. BO4: CHECK THE PCM FOR DTCS 
    • Carry out the PCM KOEO self-test.
    • Are any DTCs present? 
      Yes No
      DIAGNOSE the PCM DTC. REFER to the applicable Electronic Engine Controls article. Go to  BO5.
  5. BO5: VERIFY ALL WIRING CONNECTIONS 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • ABS Module connector disconnected. (C135)
  6. BO6: CHECK FOR CORRECT PCM OPERATION 
    • Connect the clutch pedal switch electrical connector. Make sure the connector seats and latches correctly.
