Oil Pan: Installation

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.NOTE: Note the different lengths of the bolts.
Install the studs.
Torque 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Install the shield and the retainer.
Torque 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

NOTE: The component must be installed within 10 minutes of applying the sealant.
Apply a 3.5 mm (0.137 in) bead of silicone sealant.

- Install the oil pan and the bolts finger tight.
- Tighten the oil pan bolts in sequence shown.
Torque 1-15: 89 lb.in (10 Nm) 16-17: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

- Install the oil pan and the bolts finger tight.
- Tighten the oil pan bolts in sequence shown.
Torque 1-15: 89 lb.in (10 Nm) 16-18: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

NOTE: Lubricate the engine oil filter seal with clean engine oil.
Install a new engine oil filter.
Torque 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
- Install the catalytic converter. Refer to: Catalytic Converter .
- Fill the engine with clean engine oil. Refer to: Specifications .
