Removal And Installation: Radiator: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  2. Recover the A/C system. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - Vehicles With: R134A Refrigerant .
  3. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. Refer to: Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud .
  4. Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to: Front Bumper Cover .
  5. Remove the condenser inlet and outlet nuts and disconnect the fittings. Discard the O-ring seals and gasket seals.

    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  6. Release the clamp and disconnect the lower radiator hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  7. NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

    Release the clamps and disconnect the transmission cooler lines. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

    • Detach the wiring harness retainer.

    • Detach the wiring harness connector retainer and position the wiring harness aside.

  8. Detach the retainers and position the electrical wiring harness aside.

    1. Remove the radiator upper mounting brackets and the radiator upper isolators.
    2. Remove the cooling module.

  9. Release the clips. Remove the A/C condenser and transmission fluid cooler assembly.
