Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  3. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
  4. Remove the LH headlamp. Refer to: Headlamp Assembly .
  5. Depress the tabs and disconnect the coolant tube.

  6. Remove the retainers and the damper.

    • Disconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connectors and detach the wire harness retainers.

    • Detach the lower radiator hose retainer.

    1. Release the clamp and disconnect the upper radiator hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
    2. Release the tabs and remove the cooling fan motor and shroud assembly.
