Coolant Pump: Removal

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  2. Remove the RH headlamp.
  3. Loosen the coolant pump pulley bolts.

  4. NOTE: Make sure the accessory drive belt is positioned so coolant can not contaminate the belt.

    1. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner.
    2. Position aside the accessory drive belt.
    3. Release the accessory drive belt tensioner.

  5. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.

  6. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump. Discard the O-ring seal.
