Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The RCM continuously monitors the left front impact sensor circuits for the following faults: 

If a fault is detected, the RCM stores DTC B1413:11, B1413:81 or B1413:93 in memory and sends a message to the IPC to illuminate the airbag warning indicator.

PPT W RCM DTC FAULT TRIGGER CONDITIONS

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
B1413:11 Driver Frontal Restraints Sensor: Circuit Short to Ground Sets when the RCM senses a short to ground from the left front impact sensor feed circuit.
B1413:81 Driver Frontal Restraints Sensor: Invalid Serial Data Received Sets when the RCM senses a faulted left front impact sensor or an open from the sensor feed or return circuits.
B1413:93 Driver Frontal Restraints Sensor: No Operation Sets when the RCM senses a faulted left front impact sensor or a short to voltage from the sensor feed circuit.
