Inner Constant Velocity (CV) Joint Boot: Removal

  1. Remove the front halfshaft. Refer to: Front Halfshaft LH - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F15 .
    • Remove and discard the large and small CV boot clamps. Use the General Equipment: Vise Use the General Equipment: Vise Jaw Protectors

    • Position the CV joint boot and the remove the inner CV joint housing.

  3. Remove and discard the CV joint tripod bearing circlip. Use the General Equipment: Vise Use the General Equipment: Vise Jaw Protectors

  4. NOTE: Make sure that the component is clean, free of foreign material and lubricant.

    1. Using the bearing separator and bearing puller remove the CV tripod. Use the General Equipment: Vise Use the General Equipment: Vise Jaw Protectors Use the General Equipment: Puller Use the General Equipment: Bearing Separator
    2. Remove the inner CV joint boot.
