Side Obstacle Detection Control Module: Removal

Side obstacle detection control module 

  1. NOTE: This step is only necessary if a SODL or SODR is being replaced.
    NOTE: If installing a new module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new module after installation.
    NOTE: If a SODL or SODR did not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, As-Built Data may need to be entered as part of the repair.

    Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the SODL or SODR following the on-screen instructions.

  2. Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to: Rear Bumper Cover .
  3. Remove the SODL.

    1. Disconnect the SODL electrical connector.
    2. Remove the SODL screws.

  4. Remove the SODR.

    1. Disconnect the SODR electrical connector.
    2. Remove the SODR screws.

    Side obstacle detection control module bracket 

  5. Remove the SODL or SODR.
  6. Remove the bolt and SODL bracket.

    Torque: 18 lb.in (2 Nm)

    1. Remove the bolt.

      Torque: 18 lb.in (2 Nm)

    2. Remove the screws and SODR bracket.
