Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  2. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Upload the module information from the diagnostic tool using the Programmable Modules Installation routine. Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment Refer to: Module Programming . Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment

  3. NOTE: The step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Reprogram the PATS Refer to: Anti-Theft Key Programming - Scan Tool . Refer to: Key Programming Using Two Programmed Keys .

  4. NOTE: The step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    After completing the repairs, perform the Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile Correction procedure.
