Manifold Absolute Pressure and Temperature (MAPT) Sensor: Removal

  1. Remove the engine appearance cover.

  2. Disconnect the vacuum tube.

  3. NOTE: The turbocharger compressor vanes can be damaged by even the smallest particles. When removing any turbocharger or engine air intake system component, ensure that no debris enters the system. Failure to do so may result in damage to the turbocharger.

    • Loosen the air cleaner outlet pipe clamps, remove the nuts. Disconnect the vacuum tube from air outlet pipe. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

      Torque

      : 1: 97 lb.in (11 Nm) 2: 35 lb.in (4 Nm)

    • Disconnect the PCV quick release coupling.

    • Disconnect the turbocharger boost pressure and charge air temperature sensor electrical connector and remove the air cleaner outlet pipe assembly.

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector, remove retainer and MAPT sensor.

    Torque

    : 27 lb.in (3 Nm)
