Normal Operation
This test is used to generate a RVC for a new PSCM when no additional diagnostics are required. A RVC is required to order a new PSCM and to document billing for payment.
- Y1: VERIFY THE PSCM DTC
- Clear the PSCM DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs.
- Does the DTC return?
Yes No Go to Y2. The condition causing the DTC is not present at this time.
If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form.
When complete, SELECT the "X" in the top right corner to CLOSE this procedure. - Y2: OBTAIN PSCM RVC
- Obtain the PSCM RVC: In order to claim the SLTS labor operation for completion of the PSCM testing, the code obtained through the link below must be included on the associated warranty claim.
If this is a Ford paid repair, INjCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form. When complete, SELECT the "X" in the top right corner to CLOSE this procedure.
Install a new EPAS gear. CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no serrvice aticles address this concern, INSTALL a new EPAS gear. REFER to appropriate Power Steering article. ORDER a replacement PSCM and INCLUDE the RVC on the form. When complete, SELECT the "X" in the top right corner to CLOSE.
