Normal Operation

The PSCM must be programmed with the correct vehicle information in order to operate correctly. Refer to appropriate Module Configuration System article for additional module configuration information. This test generates a RVC for a new PSCM when directed to do so from pinpoint test. A RVC is required to order a new PSCM and to document billing for payment.
- AB1: CHECK VEHICLE HISTORY
- Check the vehicle history for recent service actions related to the PSCM or steering column.
- Have there been any recent service actions related to the PSCM or steering column?
Yes No REPEAT the PMI procedure as directed by the diagnostic scan tool or CONFIGURE the PSCM using vehicle as-built data. Go to AB2. - AB2: VERIFY THE PSCM DTC
- Clear the PSCM DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs.
- Does the DTC return?

| INSTALL a new PSCM. CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new EPAS column. REFER to appropriate Steering Column article. ORDER a replacement PSCM and INCLUDE the RVC on the form. If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form. When complete, SELECT the "X" in the top right corner to CLOSE this procedure. |
