High-Pressure Fuel Pump Drive Unit: Removal

  1. Remove the high-pressure fuel pump. Refer to: High-Pressure Fuel Pump .
    • During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.

    1. Disconnect the vacuum tube quick release couplings and position out of the way. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

    • During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.

    1. Release the hose retainer. Disconnect the quick release couplings, then remove the crankcase ventilation tube. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

  2. Remove the wire harness bracket nuts, then position the wire harness and bracket out of the way.

  3. Remove the fuel supply tube bracket nut, then position the fuel supply tube and bracket out of the way.

    • During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.

    1. Remove the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit studbolts and then remove the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit.
