High-Pressure Fuel Pump Drive Unit: Installation

NOTE:
Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

- Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- Inspect the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit gasket, clean and replace the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit gasket as needed.

- During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.
- Install the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit, then install and tighten the high-pressure fuel pump drive unit studbolts in the following 2 stages.
Torque: Stage 1: 16 lb.ft (22 Nm) Stage 2: 45 deg.
- Install the fuel supply tube and bracket, install and tighten the fuel supply tube bracket nut.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- Install the wire harness and bracket, install and tighten the wire harness bracket nuts.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

- During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.
- Install the crankcase ventilation tube, then connect the quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

- Connect the vacuum tube quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Install the high-pressure fuel pump. Refer to: High-Pressure Fuel Pump .
