Removal And Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting .
  2. Release the tension on the parking brake cable. For additional information, refer to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release  .
  3. Press inward on the tabs and detach the front parking brake cable from the frame bracket.
  4. Remove the BCM. For additional information, refer to Body Control Module (BCM) .
  5. Remove the 3 nuts and the BCM bracket.

    • To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

  6. Remove the scuff plate trim panel and the lower cowl side trim panel. For additional information, refer to Interior Trim and Ornamentation .
  7. Position the carpet aside and disconnect the parking brake switch electrical connector.
  8. Remove the parking brake control nut.

    • To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

  9. Remove the 2 parking brake control bolts.

    • To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

  10. Position the cable conduit grommet through the floor.
  11. Remove the parking brake control and front cable assembly.
  12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    • Inspect the parking brake system for correct operation.
